Super behind on the blog, but trying to get caught up! Bear with me as we relive our day trip to the beautiful country of Montenegro!

While we were staying in Croatia, we were excited to take a little bus trip to another unique country, the neighbor country of Montenegro.  The bus trip overall was.. eh.. it was a long day with slightly boring information given. The countryside however, was stunning, and made the trip totally worth it!

We visited a couple little cities.  Our first stop was to overlook the most expensive resort in the world.  It is a little resort island called Sveti Stefan.  Billionaires park their yachts here and vacation away from the lay people on a gorgeous island.  It was packed with villas and amenities and looked absolutely fab 😉 We viewed from above of course.

Brad decided he was gonna get a yacht. 😉

We stopped by the nearby town of Budva and had some lunch on the water.  We walked around the tiny but adorable walled town.  Like most of Montenegro, wild cats roamed the street in masses. Seriously, there were cats everywhere.  Our local tour guide told us that during the era of the plague, cats were used to kill the rats that carried the virus.  For this reason, cats are semi-sacred and are honored in the city and roam free… everrrryyywhere

Our final stop was a little tour around the Bay of Kotor.  The water was beautiful and made for some great photos.  It was rainy but the storm clouds added to the atmosphere!

If you are spending some extra time in Dubrovnik, a day trip to Montenegro is super fun! But maybe try and rent a car and do it yourself if you don’t want the time limits and the boring bus ride 😉
